How much does it cost to advertise on CapitalJobs.com.au?

To advertise on CapitalJobs.com.au it is necessary to purchase an advertising ‘pack’, which provides you with a certain number of ‘Job Slots’ and ‘CV Views’. Our prices for advertising packs are based on a unit price of $79 per job slot (ex GST), with sliding-scale discounts for volume advertising. The packs are as follows:

What are ‘job slots’ and how do they differ from straight advertisements?

When you open an account with CapitalJobs.com.au you are allocated a certain number of ‘job slots’ as part of an advertising ‘pack’. Job slots enable the advertiser to post job advertisements on the website in relevant categories (up to 3 job categories per slot). A single job slot enables the advertiser to advertise one job at a time, for a period of at least thirty days (depending upon the duration of the ‘pack’ purchased) – that is, advertisers may choose to advertise multiple jobs during the life of the job slot, but only one advertisement can show in that slot at any one time. This offers greater value than most job boards, as our job slots do not ‘perish’ when the advertisement is removed from the site – if you fill a job within two weeks of advertising, then you are able to display a second advertisement in the job slot for the remaining life of the slot (ie. Another two weeks).

For example, if you purchase a 20 Pack, you have the right to display up to 20 advertisements, at any one time, during the month-long life of the pack.

What are ‘CV Views’ and how do I use the CV Search function?

As part of the advertising ‘packs’, advertisers are also granted a number of CV views per day. If you purchase a 20 Pack, then you are granted 20 unique CV views per day, during the month-long life of the pack. Advertisers have the opportunity to search the CapitalJobs.com.au job seeker database for prospective candidates, view their CV details on request and make approaches to suitable candidates. To access this function, select the CV Search function in the Advertiser Area.

How are job applications received?

Depending on your preferences and the text of the advertisement, there are a number of ways that a job seeker can apply for your ad:

  • Via telephone (telephone details are listed at the base of each ad)
  • Via direct email (email details are listed at the base of each ad)
  • Via an advertiser’s own website, after being redirected from CapitalJobs.com.au
  • Via the ‘Send Application’ email function at the base of all advertisements on the website

How you wish to receive applications is up to you, but we would recommend using the ‘Send Application’ email function, as this compels the job seeker to provide a CV and a short cover letter. Applications made via this system are also trackable for statistical purposes and are stored alongside the job in the Advertiser Area for your repeat use.

Some advertisers choose to have job seekers apply via their own online systems. This can be facilitated in CapitalJobs.com.au by specifying the ‘Apply to URL’ against the respective job. If an ‘Apply to URL’ is provided, then the job seeker will be directed to that URL to submit his/her application.

How do I open an account?

To establish an advertiser account on CapitalJobs.com.au, select ‘Advertise Jobs’ from the top menu bar. You will be presented with two options:

  • Immediate Payment Online. At this time, you can choose to establish an account immediately by paying by credit card or Paypal using our secure online shopping cart. This is our preferred method of payment. This method will ensure that you can advertise immediately on the website.
  • Invoice Payment. Alternatively, you can choose to receive an invoice from CapitalJobs.com.au offering a number of other payment methods. Note that your account will not be made ‘live’ until the invoice has been processed by our administration staff. Payment term for invoices is 7 days from issue.

After selecting your payment method, you will be required to complete a short form containing account information about your organisation. Once this has been submitted, we review it and approve it.

I didn’t receive my account login details? What do I do now?

Once you have applied for an account and it has been approved by us, our system dispatches an automatic email to your specified email address, containing your username and password so that you can access the Advertiser Area. Unfortunately we've had some difficulties delivering our confirmation emails to Hotmail, Live.com, Gmail and other web-based email accounts. This is something that we don't have any control over, as these services use filtering technology to render these emails as spam. We’re currently investigating ways to improve our delivery rates to web-based email accounts. If possible, you should try and use an alternate email address – eg. A work email address or an ISP email address – as these are more likely to work correctly with CapitalJobs.com.au.

Why did my jobs disappear?

It’s likely that your job is now 30 days old and has been automatically removed from the site. We do this in order to keep the database fresh. We don’t delete your job outright - we just deactivate it - so if the job is still vacant and you wish to re-post it, simply login to the Advertiser Area, select the job (which will now appear in red) and tick the ‘Job Active?’ selection box. This will recommence the 30 day lifecycle of the job (assuming that you still have job slots available).

Why can’t I add a new job to the system?

It’s most likely that your job pack has expired or that you have reached the upper limit of your job slot allocation. In each case, you will need to purchase another ‘pack’ by visiting the ‘Account’ page in the Advertiser Area.

How do I buy more job slots?

To buy more job slots, log in to the Advertiser Area and click on the ‘Account’ link in the top navigation bar. You can purchase advertising packs on this page.

How do I add/change my company’s profile or contact details?

To change your details, select the ‘Profile’ link from the top menu in the Advertiser Area, make the necessary changes and hit ‘Submit’.

How do I add a logo to my profile?

To add a logo image to your Advertiser profile, select the ‘Profile’ link from the top menu in the Advertiser Area. At the bottom of the page, you will see the ‘Organisation Logo’. Click ‘browse’ to find the logo file on your local computer and upload it. The logo must be a standard image file (gif, jpg, jpeg, png) and be within the dimensions 120 x 60 pixels. Only one image can be uploaded per account.

How do I change my username and password?

To change your password, select the ‘Profile’ link from the top menu in the Advertiser Area and make the necessary change to the ‘Password’ field.

How do I get statistics for my jobs?

Statistics are available for each job by clicking the small information icon (picture of three overlapping pages) alongside the corresponding job in the Advertiser Area. Here you will be presented with information on job click throughs and applications made via the CapitalJobs.com.au system (but not those that have been made directly via email or telephone, as these are untrackable). Any applications made via the system will be listed here with the candidate’s CV and coversheet attached.

Global statistics for the entire account are also available by clicking the ‘Statistics’ link in the top menu of the Advertiser Area.

How do I use text formatting in my ads?

It is possible to use common HTML tags in your ad formatting to customise the appearance of your ad. Common HTML tags include <b>Bold</b>, <i>italics</i>, <br> for breaks, and <li> for bullet points. These tags should be included in your job description text when adding a new job.

Can I display a fully customised HTML template for my jobs?

At this stage, we don’t have the functionality for advertisers to display a fully customised HTML template with their jobs. We hope that this functionality will come at a later time.

Can I direct candidates to my company’s website, so that they can apply using our online system?

Yes, this can be facilitated in CapitalJobs.com.au by specifying an ‘Apply to URL’ against a job. If an ‘Apply to URL’ is provided, then the job seeker will be directed to that URL to submit his/her application, rather than using the CapitalJobs.com.au interface.

How many categories am I allowed to post jobs into?

You may post a single job into 3 job categories. This consumes one job slot (not three slots).

Can I use special elements, such as video or audio, in my advertisements?

Yes, you can, but by special request only. Please contact us via our Contact Form.

How do I get my logo to appear on the Featured Advertisers page on the CapitalJobs.com.au website?

A logo on the Featured Advertisers page is only provided to advertisers that have 5 or more advertisements displaying on the site at any one time.

How do I get a banner advertisement on the CapitalJobs.com.au website?

Banner advertising on our site is only provided to advertisers that display 20 or more advertisements on the site at any one time. At this stage, this benefit is manually monitored – if you believe that you qualify for this benefit, please contact us via our Contact Form.

Can we bulk upload jobs to CapitalJobs.com.au?

Yes, it is possible to bulk upload jobs to CapitalJobs.com.au via a data feed (eg. XML). As we need to tailor a solution for each situation, please contact us via our Contact Form if you are interested in this service.

Can we use a job aggregator, such as AdLogic, PostJobsOnce or Job Adder, to post our jobs to CapitalJobs.com.au?

CapitalJobs.com.au is in the process of establishing links with the major job aggregation services. More information will be provided shortly.
